In all honesty, you are going to be surprised at what is waiting inside when you arrive at your location as the freshness of the decor is in direct contrast to the duller outlook of the outside of the building. However, the modern and fresh feel does coincide with the overall atmosphere that is generated by the staff that run the hostel on a daily basis.

The space that you get can certainly be described as being practical in nature since there is no sense of you living on top of one another especially considering that this is a rather small hostel which just gives it quite a cosy feeling. However, once again the design of the rooms and their brightness does mean that you are not aware of any size issues and it is just an idea of the attention to detail that they have had here.

Oh, and they also take pride in how clean the place is as it is clear that the staff keep on top of their chores as each room is spotless including the common rooms that are always busy with people coming and going.

The staff do deserve their own mention as it is clear that each person knows what is happening in the city at any given time as they are able to provide you with ample information about the different sights and also how to get around for next to nothing. They are friendly and with a 24 hour reception you can always get help whenever it is required.

Overall, the Essential Hostel provides you with everything that you need for your stay in Budapest and it does so at a relatively low price which is a major bonus considering the prime location in the city. It is clean, super friendly, and you will have a quiet night allowing you to recharge your batteries to tackle everything that the city has to offer the following day.
